S2 Snake Robot Prototype (1994-95)
Materials: plywood and PVC pipe.
S2 was a better engineered version of S1, with servos being used to directly couple one segment to the next. The wheels were integrated into the design and the overall aesthetics were improved. It had fewer segments than S1 and
included a caster wheel under the head for support.
